Eliseo Yael Power
June 11, 1991 - May 21, 2018Age 26

"Eliseo was a force of nature. He was never comfortable standing still for too long, always on the go looking for the next thrill. The next adventure. It was just the two of us in the Power household. He was always the oldest and the loud one. Boisterous. Wanting an out. Our parents weren't exactly there all of the time, and sometimes I felt very alone. But even if he wanted to leave, Eliseo was there. When he didn't need to be. When he definitely didn't want to be.
When he graduated high school I thought he was going to leave for good. I thought he'd take his band and go be big and famous. Because they were good. But instead, he got a college degree to make a living and took me with him. Everywhere he went, he wanted me to go too. I always thought I held him back, but now I think he felt lonely too. That he needed me too.
And he was going to make it. He was going to be big with his band. They had a good reputation and a following. His dream was coming true. And I was right there, cheering him on like I always did.
When Eliseo died, there was a strong wind. He blew away like smoke in front of me. I will never forget his face, seemingly more worried for me than for himself. He was my big brother until the end."
