About us
Founded in 2018, WWGN works to provide comprehensive, long-term grief counseling to assist the bereaved as they journey toward a renewed sense of worth in the wake of loss. The leadership, professional staff, and volunteers are committed to providing meaningful programs based on well-documented needs and ongoing measurement.
WWGN is not affiliated with any church, hospice, hospital, funeral home, or other private organization although it does partner with many of them to provide services economically and effectively. WWGN is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that depends upon the support of foundations, businesses, individuals, and other organizations in order to offer counseling services to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
WWGN offers an array of Services, including individual and group counseling, a book club, a community forum, and support groups, all dedicated to healing the world's grieving heart.
Mission
To create a caring community where grieving individuals know they are not alone; to provide a safe place to grieve the death and celebrate the life of loved ones; to provide professionally facilitated support groups, individual counseling, and special programs for grieving children, teens, and adults; and to be a community resource for providing comprehensive grief support, advocacy and education.
A Brief History of WWG
WWGN was born in response to a grieving world. May 21, 2018, changed the lives of every single person on earth. Billions of people were lost to The Vanishing, the devastation felt by those left behind. Inspired by his friend Samuel Wilson, Steve Rogers founded WWGN to help the world as best he could. What began as informal meetings in Steve's apartment in Brooklyn, New York, set off a chain reaction of care. By the end of October 2018, with the help of volunteers, staff, and kind communities, WWGN was born in search of solace.
WWGN was recognized as a 501(c) (3) organization in late 2019 and has grown from a small group to a support network of over 300 chapters in the U.S. and Canada.
